Continuing my theme of the constellations and outer space from the Hunt of the Unicorn painting, this one utilizing the theme of a Dutch still life, and the Archie McPhee Squirrel Mask.
This oil painting is influenced by reinterpreting the Renaissance fondness for painting squirrels as pets and in still life imagery. It is also a visual metaphor using the contemporary Archie McPhee squirrel mask as a device to enter or emerge from a meditative space.
