The annual Mother’s Day Paint-In and Craft Fair at Royal Roads University marks its 15th anniversary this year and returns to its roots by featuring artists working in the open air.
In addition to the dozens of artists and craftspeople who will be showing and selling their work on the lawns of Hatley Castle, the neighbouring Coast Collective Arts Centre has brought together local artists who will be painting and showcasing some of their work along a trail that leads from the western part of the campus to the Collective’s arts enclave on the former Havenwood Estate - now Essencia. Visitors will have help finding their way if they take part in one of two five-kilometre nature walks led by members of the Juan de Fuca Pathfinders Walking Club, leaving the Paint-in at 11am and 1pm.
