Carollyne Yardley, Queen Elizabeth II, 18 X 24, Acrylics, 2008
“I have to be seen to be believed.” Elizabeth II
Artists note:
I’ve seen her in person three times. Twice in Victoria, British Columbia, and once in London, England, as she was leaving Buck House with Prince Philip in their chauffered towncar. It was the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, and they were all heading over to the Guards Chapel on August 31, 2007. It’s true, she has to be seen to be believed. Unfortunately, even with steady-handed preparation of the camera – she sped past me at lighting speed.

The title of this came to me this evening. I worked on it for about 4 more hours tonight. I think I now like this one better than Lady Littlehead and the Pirate. This is the third lady and squirrel in the series….
