Why Are You Painting Squirrels for God’s Sake?

Squirrel in the yard

I get asked this question very little, surprisingly. Perhaps people just get it, don’t care, or think I’m crazy anyway, so it fits the picture.

I’ve decided to start sharing a few things. About squirrels.

I know some squirrels personally. Squirrel attributes remind me of the nutty people I like. If I wanted to be airy-fairy about it, I would go on to say I believe certain people and creatures make an appearance in our lives that can be symbolic of something else; a desire, an aspiration, or perhaps a general mood or interest.

I feel like squirrels offer cool insights and symbolism.

There’s something about squirrels. Did you know that:

When the squirrel comes into our lives it is often a message for us to have more fun, and take life a little less seriously. We can see this in the squirrel’s daily antics in our yards and surroundings.

However, other animal symbolism of squirrels deal with practicality. As the squirrel is commonly known to hide and save its food and return to it in the winter months – we take this as a sign in our own lives; a sign that it might be time to look into our own provisions.

Common summary of animal symbolism of the squirrel:

  • Energy
  • Play
  • Prudence
  • Balance
  • Socializing
  • Preparation
  • Resourcefulness

So there you go, a little something about Squirrels.
